神が宿ることを願い

依代として祀る。

The stones that are created,
enshrined as yorishiro,
May a god dwell.

今回が白白庵で六度目の個展となる木ノ戸久仁子。 
近年は海外でも発表を行い、その名を日本の工芸から
世界のアートへと、轟かせようとしている。

陶芸の技法を用いて、ひたすらに「石」を作り出すその姿は、
表現者である以前に求道的であり、呪術的でもある。 
自然物が時に人間の崇拝の対象となるように、
木ノ戸の作り出す「稀晶石」もまた、
誰かが祈りを捧げる磐座になるだろうか。

人間はもはや、「考える事」を
自らが生み出した人工知能に譲ろうとしている。
 万物の創造の神がいるならば、
人間の所業をどのように思うだろうか。
あるいは「神」もまた人間の創造（想像）の賜物であるならば、
近い将来に人工知能こそが神となるのだろうか。

木ノ戸の作る石は、そんな遠くない未来において、
誰のために、何を宿す「依代」となるのだろうか。

This marks KINOTO Kuniko’s sixth solo exhibition at PAKUPAKUAN.
In recent years, she has also begun presenting her work internationally, seeking to make her name known not only within the world of Japanese Kogei, but across the global art scene.
Using the techniques of ceramics, KINOTO relentlessly creates “stones.” In doing so, she reveals herself as something more than an artist, almost devotional, and at times even shamanic.
Just as objects from nature have, at times, become objects of human worship, might the “KISHOSEKI”—the stones created by KINOTO—one day become iwakura, sacred rocks upon which someone offers their prayers?
Humanity is now on the verge of entrusting the act of “thinking” itself to the artificial intelligence it has created.
If there is a god who created all things, how would that god regard what humanity is doing?
Or, if “God” too is ultimately a creation—an invention—of the human imagination, might artificial intelligence itself become a god in the not-so-distant future?
In that not-so-distant future, for whom will KINOTO’s stones become yorishiro, vessels that harbor a presence—and what will they harbor?

1976　滋賀県に生まれる
1995　登り窯窯元・宗陶苑にて作陶を始める
　　　 若手オブジェ集団「SEEDS」に参加
1998　ニュージーランドにて一年間作陶
2001　信楽窯業試験所釉薬科 修了
現在、滋賀県の比叡平にて制作を行う
