解説：「their territory」／画家を目指すきっかけとなり、大きな影響を受けた雪舟へのオマージュシリーズです。雪舟の作品に自分の表現を重ねることで、伝統と現代、憧れと挑戦が交わる世界を描いています。

　　　《慧可断臂図》弟子入りを願う慧可が、自ら左腕を断って決意を示したという仏教の故事を題材にしています。画家として迷いや苦しみに向き合いながらも、描くことを諦めない強い意志を「不退転」というテーマで表現しました。

"their territory" / This work is part of an homage series dedicated to Sesshū Tōyō, whose art first inspired me to pursue painting and has profoundly influenced my practice. By layering my own visual language onto Sesshū's works, I explore a space where tradition and the present, admiration and challenge, intersect.

This piece is based on Eka Danpi-zu (Huike Severing His Arm), which depicts the Buddhist legend of Huike, who cut off his own left arm to demonstrate his unwavering resolve to become a disciple. While confronting the doubts and hardships that accompany the life of a painter, I express through this work the spirit of futaiten—an unyielding determination never to retreat from the path I have chosen.
