地球の自転運動によって、星を観測するとそれとは逆方向に日周運動を観ることができる。そして星は24時間で地球の公転による移動量を付加した分だけ進んだ位置に戻ってくる。その地球の自転軸も歳差運動によって２５８００年周期で星空をぐるりと一周している。それでもこの作品は星々のまわる中心をさし示し続ける。

Commentary：

As the Earth rotates, the stars appear to move across the sky in the opposite direction, tracing their daily paths.

And after twenty-four hours, they return to nearly the same position, shifted only by the distance the Earth has traveled along its orbit around the Sun.

Even the Earth's rotational axis is not fixed, slowly tracing a great circle across the heavens through precession over a cycle of approximately 25,800 years.

Yet this work continues to point toward the center around which the stars revolve.
