解説：私の両親は登山愛好家であった。一人で歩けるようになると私も飛騨山脈の北アルプスの山々へ登ることになった。山上の夜、真っ暗な闇の中、テントから頭だけ出し見上げた星空は、とても美しく、まるですぐそこに星があるかのように、手で触れられるかのようにはっきりと見えたのだった。
今も思い出す。もし、可能であれば、その星空を下界でも感じたいと始まった妄想。

Commentary：

My parents were avid mountaineers. Once I was old enough to walk on my own, I too began climbing the peaks of the Northern Alps in the Hida Mountains.

At night in the mountains, surrounded by complete darkness, I would poke my head out of the tent and look up at the sky. The stars were so beautiful, so vivid, that they seemed to hang just above me—as though I could reach out and touch them with my hand.

I still remember that sight.

This work began as a simple fantasy: if it were possible, could that star-filled sky be experienced here below as well?
