奇想天外でありながら、温故知新。

この陶芸家は二重人格なのか、

それとも神出鬼没の二十面相か。 

Extraordinary in imagination, yet rooted in tradition.
Is this ceramic artist a man of two personalities,
or a modern-day Man of Twenty Faces?

富田啓之が陶芸の道を進み始めてから二十周年となる今年、
各地で渾身の発表が続いている。 
白白庵では二〇一八年の初個展から数えて八回目となる。
すっかり白白庵の企画展で欠かせない存在となった華道家の山田尚俊も、
初登場はその個展であった。 
今展は、作品の進化と多様性を存分に発揮する内容となるだけでなく、
陶芸家・富田啓之と華道家・山田尚俊、ギャラリー白白庵が
三位一体となって迎える記念すべき展覧会となる。
会場は従来の一階ギャラリーだけでなく、三階も使用して
富田のダイナミックな造形作品と、山田の装花のコラボレーションを見せつける。
常に貪欲に挑戦を続け、世界にインパクトを与える富田にとって、
二十周年はほんの通過点に過ぎない。 
だが「今この時」は二度とは戻って来ない。 
だからこそ、私たちは彼の二十一年目の今日を祝福し、
更なる挑戦を促すのである。

This exhibition is his eighth solo presentation at PAKUPAKUAN, following his first solo exhibition here in 2018.
It was also at that first exhibition that the ikebana artist YAMADA Shoshun—now an indispensable presence in PAKUPAKUAN's exhibitions—made his first appearance with the gallery.

This exhibition not only showcases the remarkable evolution and diversity of TOMITA’s work, but also marks a memorable occasion in which ceramic artist TOMITA Hiroyuki, ikebana artist YAMADA Shoshun, and PAKUPAKUAN come together as a trinity.
The exhibition extends beyond the gallery's first floor to occupy the third floor as well, where TOMITA’s dynamic sculptural ceramics and YAMADA's floral installations engage in a powerful dialogue.

Never content to stand still, TOMITA continues to pursue new challenges with relentless ambition, leaving a lasting impression on audiences around the world. For him, twenty years is merely a milestone.
Yet this moment will never come again.
That is why we celebrate the day of his twenty-first year—and urge him onward toward even greater challenges.
