Laidback caricatured ceramics, getting funnier and funnier
TAGAWA Aki mixes the archaic Japanese motifs, such as Choju Jinbutsu Giga (caricatures of frolicking birds, animals, and humans), Ukiyoe, and genre-paintings, with contemporary news or themes. Her ceramic works are popular since they are laid back every inch of them but also slightly rousing.
While she expects that conversations get lively through her works and people have enjoyable time, she prepares topics for her next works.
We will introduce a lineup of her regular works, such as cups, plates, sake cups, and tea bowls, as well as the latest works.
